Featured Rower | Cassie Milhon

Nickname: Cassie is a nickname. My actual name is Cassandra.
Year: Junior
Hometown: Wellington, Kansas
Major: Geography
Years on the team: Two
E-board position: Current Treasurer

Favorite Erg Piece:
--I like the days where we have partners, one runs while the other ergs, and then you switch off. Circuits are good as well.

Favorite Cox'n Calls:
--Breath.
--How badly do you want it.
--We’re walking on them.

Favorite Rowing Memory:
--It’s a toss up between two. One would be when Mike Steinman and I rowed the double at Des Moines. The water was so good and we had great timing and balance, one of the best rows I have ever had. The other would be on the last day of fall practice when Mike Wubbels and I almost sunk the catch boat. After Wubbels had stopped the boat from spinning uncontrollably and I was pulled back into the boat, we started to bail water out with our hands and almost made it back to the dock without anyone seeing. But Mike Denucci and Mike Hansen both came down the stairs at that exact moment. Still rowed after that too. Let’s just say lesson learned. Do NOT put the boat into full throttle with a 200 lb. man in the front.

What is your favorite type of wood?
--My favorite wood would either be Purple Heart because how cool is it that there is purple wood or Cedar because it has a fantastic smell. Combine the two and you have a winner. Ding Ding!
